Classic Vintage FET Compression with modern features
Unlock the true potential of your audio production with the HoRNet H76 compressor limiter plugin, designed to bring classic vintage sound and modern versatility right to your fingertips. This powerful tool is perfect for producers and engineers looking to add warmth, character, and precision to their mixes. Inspired by the timeless sound of a renowned vintage FET compressor, the HoRNet H76 faithfully captures its smooth, musical compression that suits any genre.
Comprehensive Analog Emulation
What sets the HoRNet H76 apart is its comprehensive analog emulation. Every nuance of the original unit’s warmth and saturation is meticulously replicated, from the input and output transformers to the internal Class A amplifiers. This ensures that the plugin provides an authentic analog experience, enhancing your audio with the rich, classic tones of vintage gear.
Flexible Compression Settings
Flexibility is at the heart of the HoRNet H76. It offers five distinct ratio settings, including the legendary “All Button Mode,” allowing you to tailor the compression to your needs, whether you’re after gentle compression or aggressive limiting. The built-in VU meter lets you monitor input, output, and gain reduction levels with precision, ensuring you stay in control of your signal at all times.
Versatile Functionality
One of the standout features of the HoRNet H76 is its ability to bypass the compressor while keeping the analog amplifier emulation active. This gives you the option to use the plugin solely as an analog saturation tool. Additionally, the automatic gain compensation feature ensures that volume changes caused by gain reduction are smoothly managed, providing a consistent output level without the need for manual adjustments.
Precision Control
Adjusting input and output levels is made easy with pre and post emulation controls, allowing you to precisely shape your signal path. The automatic input level setting helps you achieve the desired gain reduction effortlessly, saving you valuable time during mixing. You can also link input and output controls to maintain consistent signal levels, ensuring a smooth and balanced sound.
Dynamic Response
The HoRNet H76 offers both automatic and manual settings for attack and release times. This allows you to either let the plugin match the dynamics of your audio automatically or take full control and dial in the exact timing settings that your track requires. For those who love parallel compression, the plugin includes a mix control to blend the compressed signal with the original, giving you even more creative options.
Pristine Audio Quality
To ensure pristine audio quality, the HoRNet H76 features variable oversampling, selectable from 2x to 8x with automatic settings. The bypass button allows for quick A/B comparisons, while separate controls for analog emulation and noise give you the flexibility to customize your sound further.
Preset Management and Factory Presets
The HoRNet H76 includes convenient load and save buttons for managing your presets, making it easy to recall your favorite settings or experiment with new ones. Additionally, the plugin comes with 13 factory presets that cover the most common compression uses, providing a great starting point for your projects.

Demo
The demo is fully functional except for the fact that every now and then it will silence out, you cannot save parameter values with your session and the plugin will not respond to automation coming from the host.

Works well and sounds good, however it would be easier to set up when using fully manually if attack and release times were given in milliseconds rather than a figure of 1-7. If I understand the manual correctly 1- 7 is 20-800ms for attack and 1-7 is 50ms-1.1 secs for release. So its a bit difficult to calculate an attack/release time of say 40 40 which I often use on drums. I understand this is an emulation of an actual hardware unit which I presume had the attack/release knobs labelled 1-7 but perhaps it would be possible to also show the ms values?
