HoRNet TOTAL EQ is a versatile precision equalizer that also includes a handy spectrum analyzer. What makes TOTAL EQ stand out is that you can control every parameter of each equalizer band directly from the control point on the frequency chart. This means that you won’t need to search for controls while editing a band. Everything you need is right at your mouse pointer’s reach, simplifying the process significantly.

In terms of versatility, the equalizer offers up to 12 different bands. You can choose to make any of them behave like a precise digital EQ or give them analog character. Moreover, the analog emulation in this plugin is the most advanced we’ve created. It not only simulates the saturation of analog gear but also accounts for component tolerance. As a result, no band behaves exactly like another, adding a slight level of unpredictability. This gives the sound a more interesting and “alive” quality.

Additionally, each band can function as one of the 17 available filter types. These include low pass, high pass, band pass, high shelf, low shelf, and the classic fully parametric peak equalizer.

In addition to the standard EQ controls, which are specific to each filter type, every band can also act as a dynamic filter. It borrows automatic attack, release, and threshold settings from our HoRNet DynEQ. This design gives you easy control over the dynamic behavior of each band. As a result, making dynamic EQ adjustments becomes as easy as dragging a dot on the screen.

Furthermore, each band in the EQ offers Mid/Side capabilities. This allows you to individually select the source and fine-tune the frequency response of your stereo image. On top of that, the plugin provides global controls. You can enable or disable analog emulation and saturation for all bands at once. You can also link the input and output levels, ensuring that when you change one, the other updates automatically. This allows you to drive the analog engine of the plugin without altering its output level.

The new 1.3.3 version is a maintenance release and includes:
  • Fixed messy spectrum view in certain circumstances
  • Fixed a small memory leak
  • Fixed hidden Q slider value for very low gain levels
  • Fixed crash in Digital Performer 11
The update is free for owners of the plugin and can be downloaded from the user area or through the DoIn, our automatic downloader/installer

I wish it had a threshold control. At the moment it only auto compress which is great for leveling peaks, but not so great for sound manipulation
