We just updated SyncPressor, our tempo-synced compressor.

SyncPressor is a dynamics processor designed as a master bus compressor. We developed it in collaboration with Antonio Porcelli, a top Italian mixing engineer. This plugin gives your mix that “glue” effect while staying transparent.

SyncPressor achieves this by making compression move dynamically with the track. It sets the attack and release times according to the track’s tempo. Instead of typical attack and release knobs, SyncPressor uses dropdown menus with time divisions tied to its internal tempo. You can sync it to the DAW, set it manually, or let it automatically detect the tempo from the audio.

This approach ensures the compressor’s time constants always work with your track, never against it.

SyncPressor also functions as a track compressor. It gives you the usual compressor settings like variable knee, RMS mode, feedback processing, external sidechain, and a high-pass filter for the sidechain detector (both internal and external).

For master bus compression, you can unlink the left and right channels in the internal detector. This feature turns SyncPressor into a “dual mono” processor, allowing it to compress the left and right channels separately.

Lastly, SyncPressor includes a dry/wet control that lets you blend the unprocessed signal with the compressed one. The “tempo multiplier” setting allows you to double or halve the attack and release times.

The new 1.0.1 version includes:

  • We fixed tempo detection for sample rates higher than 44,100 Hz

  • We fixed the external sidechain issue where it affected only the left channel in Pro Tools when unlink was activated

  • We corrected how the plugin reports oversampling latency

  • We added new presets from Nicola Fantozzi, Davide Linzi, and Simone Squillario

The update is free for plugin owners and can be downloaded from the user area or through HoRNet DoIn, our downloader/installer.
