Feature update for the analog equalizer
The HoRNet SW34EQ MK2 brings the classic 80s sound. It digitally recreates the EQ from an American console, delivering the typical analog EQ tone and controls.
We modeled this plugin after a specific channel of the console used in the main room of Virus Studio in Siena, Italy. The EQ provides smooth and gentle curves, making it ideal for general tone shaping with its bell and shelf filters.
You can also activate the 18dB/octave high-pass filter independently, even if the rest of the EQ remains off.
Not only did we model the EQ curves, but we also captured the original device’s saturation characteristics. Since the console comes from the 80s, it uses op-amps throughout the signal path, primarily producing even harmonics. As you increase the gain, however, odd harmonics start to emerge. We even modeled the hiss, and you can deactivate the entire emulation if you prefer a cleaner sound.
Moreover, the SW34EQ MK2 features a sleek interface. Each knob includes readouts, which makes it easy to adjust the frequency and gain of each band.
In addition to the high-pass filter, you can fine-tune its frequency. We’ve also added a 12dB/octave low-pass filter, which wasn’t available on the original hardware.
For those who enjoy using saturation, we’ve added a convenient link button. This feature automatically compensates the output when you increase the input level. If you really love saturation, you can push the level up to four times for even more intense results.
