HoRNet ThirtyOne MK2, a spectrum analyzer and 31 bands EQ with “Auto EQ”, improved
We have just released the new ThirtyOne MK2.
ThirtyOne MK2 combines a spectrum analyzer with a graphic equalizer, both featuring the standard 31 one-third octave bands. These tools are commonly found in live mixers, and engineers often place them in the master bus. We modeled its behavior after a well-known Italian analog spectrum analyzer. To ensure accuracy, we precisely recreated its time response.
The graphic equalizer takes inspiration from analog units, bringing a familiar, tactile feel to your master chain. We replicated the smooth LED lighting by gradually increasing the current flow, creating the same fluid response as the original hardware. Each LED column follows a 20dB/octave filter, accurately mimicking the original design. You can easily track fast peaks or average frequencies by selecting one of three response speeds: 0.25, 1, or 4 seconds.
Additionally, each LED represents 1, 2, or 3 dB values, with an option for 6dB/LED. When you adjust the resolution, the scale on the left of the display automatically updates to reflect the new setting. We also included a peak-hold feature for each frequency band, which you can enable or disable based on your needs. This feature wasn’t available in the original unit, adding more flexibility to your workflow.
Furthermore, below the spectrum analyzer, you’ll find 31 sliders that allow you to shape the output and correct any resonances. Each slider controls a standard one-third octave filter, adjustable from -15 to +15 dB. You can type specific values directly into the box below each slider, providing you with precise control over your adjustments.
Furthermore, we’ve introduced a unique “Auto EQ” function. By activating Auto EQ, you let the plugin automatically adjust the gain for each band based on the spectrum analyzer’s output. This optimizes the harmonic balance without any manual intervention. ThirtyOne MK2 includes three Auto EQ algorithms: Average, Median, and Lucky. The first two rely on mathematical models, while the third algorithm was a happy accident we discovered. We kept it because it sounds fantastic.
In addition to the features from the original version, ThirtyOne MK2 introduces several new enhancements, including:
ThirtyOne MK2 is available for just 20,99€. If you already own the previous version, you can upgrade to the new version for only 2,99€.
