We have just released DynEq, a dynamic equalizer designed to apply a specific equalization curve proportionally to the intensity of the input signal.

HoRNet DynEq is a dynamic equalizer plugin, a tool specifically designed to apply a precise equalization curve proportional to the intensity of the input signal.

To begin with, DynEq offers one parametric band of equalization with standard controls—frequency, gain, and Q. These controls allow you to filter out specific resonances or boost a frequency that might be lacking in the track. As a result, it provides precise control over your audio.

In addition, DynEq employs a straightforward yet effective approach to this type of processing. It offers one parametric band of equalization with standard controls: frequency, gain, and Q. These controls allow you to filter out specific resonances or boost a frequency that might be lacking in the track. If you need to manage multiple bands, you can simply add another instance of DynEq after the first one, and so on. Consequently, we intentionally kept this approach simple to provide a plugin with minimal controls, letting you focus solely on the sound.

Moreover, DynEq incorporates our usual range of “auto” features into the standard dynamic equalizer controls. For instance, we’ve included an auto-speed toggle and an auto-threshold function.

Furthermore, the auto-speed feature syncs the attack and release of the internal envelope detector with the host tempo. Likewise, the auto-threshold compares the specific frequency you are targeting with the input signal and dynamically adjusts the threshold.

Once the sidechain intensity surpasses the processing threshold, the difference between this setting and the sidechain is calculated and used to scale the gain applied by the EQ section. As a result, this creates a very smooth and dynamic effect that enhances the signal with maximum transparency.
