Bugfix update for our visual multi band compressor
We are excited to announce the release of version 1.0.3 of HoRNet MBC, our visual automatic multi-band compressor. This update brings several improvements and fixes to ensure that HoRNet MBC continues to deliver the best possible performance, helping you achieve professional-level sound shaping for your mixes and masters.
HoRNet MBC is a groundbreaking multi-band compressor designed to give you precise control over every aspect of your audio, whether you’re working on mixing, mastering, or sculpting individual elements of your track. With its innovative approach, HoRNet MBC stands out as a powerful tool for both seasoned professionals and newcomers, providing the flexibility to enhance clarity, preserve dynamics, and shape your sound with exceptional precision.
HoRNet MBC is built to provide maximum control over your audio, giving you the ability to process different frequency ranges independently. This powerful compressor divides your audio into four separate frequency bands, allowing you to apply individual compression or expansion settings to each band. The four independent bands, each with adjustable frequency ranges, let you sculpt your sound more effectively than ever before. Whether you’re focusing on tightening up the lows, controlling harsh mids, or adding brightness to the highs, this level of detailed control ensures you get the perfect tonal balance across your entire mix.
The three flexible crossovers allow you to precisely define the frequency boundaries for each band. These crossovers give you the power to determine exactly where the low, mid, and high ranges transition, providing the flexibility to shape your mix with incredible detail. By using HoRNet MBC, you can refine your sound at a deeper level, ensuring every frequency band is treated individually with the right compression settings.
Furthermore, HoRNet MBC offers a dynamic range of advanced features, such as the ability to switch each frequency band between compression and expansion modes. This dual functionality is perfect for producing dynamic effects or for controlling the dynamics of specific frequency ranges in your mix. The expansion mode is especially useful when you want to preserve the natural transients of a sound, offering even more control over your mix’s dynamics.
For those who are looking to add more spatial depth and control to their sound, HoRNet MBC also features Stereo and M/S (Mid-Side) modes. These modes allow you to treat the left and right channels independently or manipulate the mid and side content of your mix. This feature provides an extra layer of versatility, especially when dealing with stereo imaging, widening, or narrowing elements of your track. Whether you want to tighten up the stereo field or add more space to your sound, these modes give you the freedom to experiment and fine-tune every aspect of your mix.
HoRNet MBC is not only powerful but also intuitive. The plugin is designed with user-friendliness in mind, ensuring that you can dive right into your mix without getting bogged down by overly complex parameters. The plugin’s auto functions for Attack, Release, Ratio, and Threshold parameters simplify your workflow by automatically adjusting settings based on your audio. These auto functions are ideal for quickly getting to a good starting point, especially when you’re dealing with time-sensitive projects.
The plugin also features an intuitive graphical representation of each frequency band’s compression and expansion. This visual display allows you to monitor and fine-tune the settings for each band with precision. You can easily see the level of compression or expansion being applied in real time, giving you a clear and detailed overview of how each band is responding to the audio.
For the audiophile or perfectionist, HoRNet MBC offers up to 4x Oversampling, ensuring that your audio remains pristine and free of unwanted artifacts. This high level of oversampling is crucial for achieving clean and transparent compression, especially when working with intricate mixes that require the utmost clarity. The added oversampling ensures that every nuance of your music is captured, giving you the highest quality audio possible without sacrificing performance.
This update comes with several important fixes and improvements, enhancing both the functionality and user experience of HoRNet MBC:
Fixed attack and release not being computed correctly: We’ve resolved an issue where the attack and release parameters were not calculated correctly, ensuring that your compression settings behave as expected.
Fixed soloed band initial frequency: This fix resolves an issue where the initial frequency of a soloed band wasn’t displayed correctly. Now, when you solo a band, the frequency will be accurately displayed for a more reliable workflow.
Changed behavior to exclusive solo: The solo feature now operates with exclusive soloing, meaning when you solo one band, all other bands will be muted. This change enhances the user experience and helps prevent confusion when working with multiple bands.
Added resizability of the UI by dragging the bottom right corner: For better flexibility, you can now resize the plugin’s interface by dragging the bottom right corner. This feature ensures that you can customize the size of the UI to fit your screen or workflow preferences.
Whether you’re working on a mix, a master, or individual tracks, HoRNet MBC is an essential tool for anyone who wants to refine their sound. Its multi-band design allows you to target specific frequencies for compression or expansion, making it a perfect solution for tightening low-end bass, smoothening mids, or brightening highs. The plugin’s stereo and M/S modes are also invaluable when working with stereo imaging, as they enable you to have full control over the spatial characteristics of your audio.
With HoRNet MBC, you can easily manage loudness levels thanks to the linkable input and output controls. This feature allows you to maintain a balanced and consistent loudness, even when making significant adjustments to individual frequency bands. The plugin also includes a bypass button for quick A/B comparisons, allowing you to toggle the plugin’s processing on and off for easy comparison and fine-tuning.
This release further solidifies HoRNet MBC as one of the most powerful, versatile, and easy-to-use multi-band compressors on the market. Whether you’re refining your mixes or mastering your tracks, HoRNet MBC provides the precision, flexibility, and high-quality sound that will take your audio production to the next level.
