Bugfix update for the euclidean midi sequencer
The HoRNet RhyGenerator is an Euclidean step sequencer that distributes a specific number of “beats” as evenly as possible across a given number of “steps.” You can explore this concept further in the classic paper by Godfried Toussaint.
With RhyGenerator, you can create up to 16 rhythms, each consisting of up to 32 steps. Notably, the 16 lanes on the plugin’s GUI act as separate step sequencers, all synchronized with your DAW’s tempo. Additionally, each sequencer can operate in various modes: Single Note, Arpeggiator Up, Arpeggiator Down, Chord, and MIDI Control.
In “Note” mode, the sequencer outputs the specified note following the rhythm generated by the Euclidean algorithm. On the other hand, in “Arpeggiator Up” or “Arpeggiator Down” modes, the sequencer outputs notes from the plugin input in ascending or descending order, adhering to the rhythmic pattern you’ve set.
Furthermore, in “Chord” mode, the sequencer plays all input notes together on every active beat. Conversely, in “Control” mode, the sequencer uses MIDI control change messages instead of notes. This feature allows you to rhythmically automate any parameter of your synths. Importantly, each sequencer provides control over the number of steps and beats separately, offering flexibility and precision.
Moreover, you can assign a different MIDI channel to each step sequencer. This setup enables you to control up to 16 different synths simultaneously. Additionally, we’ve included an LFO for each sequencer, allowing it to modulate the MIDI message value.
