HoRNet ELM 128 MK2 loudness meterWe have just updated HoRNet ELM 128 MK2, the EBU loudness meter with loudness normalization

HoRNet ELM 128 MK2 is a powerful LUFS meter plugin that follows the EBU R128 standard. It provides five essential loudness measurements: momentary, short-term, integrated, dynamic range, and true peak. Each measurement offers precise insights into your audio levels, ensuring your work meets the highest broadcast standards.

The plugin supports mono, stereo, and 5.1 surround metering, making it versatile for different audio setups. It also features a history graph that lets you monitor loudness over time. You can review up to 12 hours of loudness history, giving you a detailed view of your audio’s dynamics.

We designed our LUFS meter based on the broadcasting industry to minimize perceived loudness differences between programs. To simplify this, HoRNet ELM 128 MK2 includes a normalization function. It automatically adjusts the gain in real time, ensuring no signal exceeds your set reference level. Whether you use momentary, short-term, or integrated loudness readings, the normalization adapts to your chosen standard.

ELM 128 MK2 uses LUFS (Loudness Units Full Scale) as its measurement units. Like dB but with a pre-emphasis filter, LUFS ensures accurate loudness measurements that match human hearing.

The new 2.1.0 version is a feature release and includes:
  • Fixed crash in Logic Pro X
  • Fixed random issues with GUI displaying yellow lines
  • Fixed window size not being saved and restored
  • Added continuous normalization mode
  • Increased maximum applied gain to 30dB
The update is free for owners of the plugin and can be downloaded from the user area
