We have just updated DynamicsControl, our dynamics management tool.

HoRNet DynamicsControl gives you full control over your sound’s dynamic range. With three different compressors, you can easily limit the difference between the loudest and softest parts, effectively reducing the dynamic range.

The DynamicsControl features three compressors with distinct characteristics. First, the regular compressor limits the loudest parts, using a soft knee for a smooth response.

The second compressor, based on the CompExp algorithm, adjusts the gain by “squeezing” the signal around the chosen threshold. The third, an upward compressor, amplifies the signal when it falls below the threshold, rather than reducing it.

These three compressors work together to significantly reduce the dynamic range. The “top” compressor smooths out peaks, the “bottom” one lifts the quieter parts, and the “mid” compressor reduces the overall dynamic range.

You can control the attack and release times for all three compressors using the dedicated controls. Additionally, we’ve included a saturation algorithm that reduces peaks even further by acting as a soft clipper.

Gain changes are clearly displayed through a classic meter and a graphical transfer function view. The plugin automatically adapts its internal oversampling to the host sample rate, always delivering optimal sound quality.

Designed as a broadcast compressor, DynamicsControl excels on the master bus. It’s also highly effective for dynamic tracks like vocals, making it a great tool for voiceover production and podcasting.

The new Dynamics Control 1.0.1 version includes:
  • Fixed issues with saving and loading state in Wavelab
  • Fixed issues with background rendering in Wavelab
The update is free for plugin owners and can be downloaded from the user area.
