We have just updated DeeLay, our digital dub delay, to version 1.4.0.

HoRNet DeeLay delivers a vintage digital dub delay sound. It handles common delay duties with ease and rises to the challenge for even the most demanding creative tasks.

The vintage button gives the HoRNet DeeLay that classic early ’90s sound. At that time, digital technology was still imperfect but had a unique character of its own.

DeeLay creates endless feedback loops. When you change the delay time, the buffer’s pitch changes, producing funny and interesting noises. You can also modulate the time parameter with an LFO, which enables the creation of futuristic wobbling sounds.

Because this is a digital delay, it produces all the robotic artifacts typical of modulated digital delays. It doesn’t have the smooth action of an analog-emulated delay. Try it on vocals, guitars, or anything that needs extra space. The HoRNet DeeLay will surprise you with its spacey yet focused sound.

The imperfections of early ’90s digital devices often gave them character, despite their limitations. HoRNet DeeLay captures that character when you turn on the “vintage” button. It uses 12-bit degradation of high-resolution recordings in its internal processing. Since digital devices also had an analog front end, the “vintage” button adds saturation as well, giving you a more authentic vintage sound.

When you set the feedback to 100%, HoRNet DeeLay enters an endless loop mode. The delay’s level never decays over time. This feature is perfect for creating futuristic sounds by adjusting the time parameter. Changing the time on a playing delay alters the delay’s pitch! You can make it even more fun by using the LFO to modulate the time. No need to keep the feedback at 100%—just distort, repitch, and have fun with the delay!

This release includes:

  • Added Apple Silicon M1 support
  • Fixed GUI size issues on Windows with high-DPI monitors
  • Removed 32-bit support

The update is free for plugin owners and can be downloaded using HoRNet DoIn or from the “my account” page.
