Feature update for the keyboard vintage chorus
We have just updated Chorus60, the vintage keyboard chorus, to version 1.2.0.
Chorus60 emulates a famous vintage chorus found in an iconic 80s keyboard.
When the keyboard was first released, it had only one oscillator per voice. To thicken the sound, the manufacturer added this particular chorus, which became the signature sound of many hit songs like “Sweet Dreams.”
We took the original schematic, analyzed it, simulated it, and recreated it in a plugin. We also added controls for internal chorus parameters such as the LFO rate, Dry/Wet control, and chorus wideness.
You can enable or disable the analog characteristics, including saturation and hiss, independently, giving you full control over the sound.
For optimal sound quality, we included 2x oversampling. The unique sound of this chorus comes from the analog BBD used in its design, along with its pre- and post-filtering. We faithfully recreated these elements. This technology was used in many other products by the same manufacturer, including guitar pedals.
Chorus60 sounds great on keyboards, vocals, guitars, and more. It delivers the classic 80s chorus sound but with the added flexibility and control of modern technology. The plugin defaults to the original design’s settings when opened. It already sounds great, but you can adjust the parameters to fit your specific needs.
