HoRNet 3XOver overview

The HoRNet 3XOver is a unique and versatile plugin that combines the best of both worlds: it’s half a DJ equalizer, and half a three-band crossover, offering advanced control over frequency bands with selectable slopes and independent output management for each band. This plugin is designed for sound designers, producers, and DJs who need precision in controlling their audio spectrum.

At its core, the 3XOver features a system of three filters designed to process different frequency ranges:

• A low-pass filter for the low frequencies, allowing you to isolate and control the bass content of your signal.
• A band-pass filter for the mid frequencies, giving you the ability to focus on the middle range of your sound, essential for vocals, instruments, and most of your musical content.
• A high-pass filter for the high frequencies, enabling you to control the treble content and add clarity to your mix.

Each of these filters comes with selectable slopes of 24dB/Octave or 48dB/Octave, allowing you to adjust the steepness of the filter roll-off and control how aggressively the frequencies are attenuated. The plugin also offers a freely adjustable cutoff frequency point, giving you total flexibility over where each filter engages, alongside a gain control to adjust the level for each frequency band. For full control, each filter also includes an ON/OFF switch that allows you to kill a specific frequency band entirely when needed.

What makes the HoRNet 3XOver even more powerful is its output configuration. The plugin provides four different stereo outputs:

• A Master output, marked with an “M” on the output selectors, which combines all the processed bands into a unified stereo output.
• Three auxiliary outputs, marked as “1”, “2”, and “3”, which correspond to the individual frequency bands (low, mid, and high). These outputs can be used to route each frequency band to separate tracks or effects, giving you more control over the mix or allowing for creative processing of each band individually.
