Overview
The HoRNet 3XOver is a very peculiar plugin. It combines the features of a DJ EQ with those of a three-band crossover, offering selectable slopes and outputs for each band.
At its core, the plugin includes a system of three filters: a low-pass filter for low frequencies, a band-pass filter for mid frequencies, and a high-pass filter for high frequencies. Each filter features a selectable slope of 24dB/Octave or 48dB/Octave, along with a freely adjustable cutoff frequency point, gain control, and an ON/OFF switch to deactivate that frequency band.
Additionally, the 3XOver provides four different stereo outputs: a Master output (identified by an “M” on the output selectors) and three auxiliary outputs (identified by the numbers “1,” “2,” and “3” on the output selectors). Consequently, you can assign each band to any of the plugin’s outputs. This setup allows for great flexibility, ranging from a basic three-band DJ equalizer to a multi-output crossover, which can be used to build custom multiband compressors, for example.
Compatibility
Although the 3XOver is a unique plugin that adheres to multi-output VST and Audio Units specifications, this particular feature may not work with every host. Specifically, not all hosts can route audio from a secondary output of a plugin to a new track.
We have successfully tested multi-output routing in the following hosts:
- Ableton Live
- Cockos Reaper
- Motu Digital Performer
- Avid Pro Tools (with the VST wrapper)

Demo
The demo is fully functional except for the fact that every now and then it will silence out, you cannot save parameter values with your session and the plugin will not respond to automation coming from the host.

Copy protection
The HoRNet 3XOver has no copy protection, I don’t believe in copy protection, they are always cracked and they are annoying for the users, we all know you are not going to give away the plugin on the internet…

Excellent convenient plugin and does exactly what I wanted. I just finished splitting a guitar part (great player playing basslines and chords plus more all at once..!) so I could bring out the bass part (from the DI track) with compression and other treatments more clearly and then add on the top part (from the miced track). It's come out just so nice.
Hornet offers fine equipment at an approachable (buyable) price and no iLok or other nonsense. (Non dongle iLok just cost me £40, 4 hours work and zero to show for it…… iLok = do not buy this product)
